Sorrento Back Beach at Low Tide

Sorrento Back Beach at Low Tide | Victoria $2495

Acrylic on Canvas | August 2026

104.5cm x 104.5cm | Framed in American Ash Floating Frame made by Southern Buoy Framers Mornington

With my painting of Sorrento Back Beach I particularly enjoyed capturing the shadows and crags of the cliff face through lots of different brushstrokes and tones.  I have painted the people on the beach lightly enough to be recognisable, but not to distract from the drama of the natural landscape.  I like the romance of this painting and love the blues across the sky, ocean and rockpools that work perfectly with the bold cliff tones and golden sand.

Acrylic on Canvas | July 2026

105cm x 105cm | Framed in American Ash Floating Frame made by Southern Buoy Framers Mornington

The view encompassing the historic Millionaires Walk Piers through strong sunlight creating pretty silhouettes and sparkling ocean. I love the blues of the shadows, the green hues of the coastal heath, the turquoise ocean patches amongst reefs framed by light golden peaches of the beach.

105cm x 105cm | Framed in American Ash Floating Frame made by Southern Buoy Framers Mornington

This painting is a view of one of the beautiful piers you can see on Millionaires walk in Sorrento.  I wanted to capture the simple coastal palette and decorative form of the Moonah Trees framing the beach.  It is so picturesque!

Acrylic on Canvas | May 2026

152cm x 60.9cm | Framed in American Ash Floating Frame made by Southern Buoy Framers Mornington

The allure and beauty of Point King Beach and Millionaires Walk have captivated me, as they have many artists over the years. The colours of the white beach huts, pastel dunes, and ocean are quintessentially coastal, and I wanted to capture that in this painting. My aim is to portray the scene with realism while maintaining a painterly quality.
